Soundsation Alchemix Pro: the New Hybrid Analog-Digital Mixers Combining Routing Flexibility and Multimedia Integration

The new Soundsation Alchemix Pro series comprises three models that differ in channel count while delivering the same audio quality, rugged construction, and reliability required for life on the road.

Alchemix 403 Pro, Alchemix 803 Pro and Alchemix 1203 Pro share the same electronic architecture, ensuring identical sonic character and dynamic performance. They differ exclusively in connectivity and input capacity, offering 10 total channels (403 Pro), 14 total channels (803 Pro), and 18 total channels for the flagship 1203 Pro.

The entire range is engineered around high-gain, ultra-low-noise discrete microphone preamps, delivering an input gain range from +8 dB to +54 dB via balanced XLR connectors, with +48V phantom power available on all channels.

Each mono channel features a 75 Hz analog high-pass filter and a 6.3 mm TRS insert point for integrating external dynamics processors before the EQ stage. Level control is handled by 60 mm long-throw logarithmic faders, ensuring precise adjustment and excellent resolution even near unity gain.

Each channel is equipped with a fixed three-band equalizer optimized for both corrective and creative shaping. The high-frequency band operates as a 12 kHz shelving filter, the mid band uses a bell-shaped peaking filter centered at 2.5 kHz—critical for vocal presence and upper-mid instrument definition—while the low-frequency band provides an 80 Hz shelving filter for controlling body and sub-bass resonance.

In terms of signal routing, every channel includes Peak LED indicators, illuminated Mute switches, and independent routing switches to assign the signal either to the main L-R Master bus or to the stereo Subgroup 1-2, ideal for grouping homogeneous sources such as drum sections or backing vocals. Gain staging and monitoring are managed via PFL (Pre-Fader Listen) selectors on individual channels and AFL (After-Fader Listen) selectors on auxiliary sends and effects returns.

Operational flexibility extends to stage monitoring and external sends through two independent Aux outputs. Each send features global Pre/Post-Fader switching, allowing the buses to function either as stable monitor sends independent of channel fader positions or as additional effects sends. A third dedicated FX bus is permanently routed Post-Fader to the integrated digital effects processor.

The internal DSP operates at 24-bit/48 kHz and offers 16 high-fidelity presets, including Room, Hall and Plate reverbs, delays, and combined effects. Tap Tempo control enables precise synchronization of delay times to the tempo of the performance. The Master L-R output is further processed through a 7-band stereo graphic equalizer, essential for room tuning and feedback suppression.

The digital section is completed by a multimedia module combining Bluetooth 5.1 reception and a USB player/recorder compatible with high-resolution WAV and FLAC formats, in addition to standard MP3 files. This module features a dedicated return channel with independent level control and routing.

For seamless integration with modern Digital Audio Workstation platforms, Soundsation has implemented a full-duplex USB 2.0 audio interface with 24-bit Delta-Sigma converters operating at 48 kHz. The interface provides bidirectional stereo streaming (2-In / 2-Out) with Microsoft Windows and macOS, enabling direct recording of the Master L-R mix and high-quality digital playback without the need for proprietary drivers.

The most compact model in the range, the Alchemix 403 Pro, features 4 mono Mic/Line inputs and 3 stereo line inputs, making it ideal for small recording setups, structured podcasts, and solo performances.

For fixed installations and mobile control rooms, it can be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack using the dedicated rack-mount kit.

The Alchemix 803 Pro doubles the microphone preamp section to 8 mono inputs while retaining 3 stereo channels, making it the ideal choice for mid-sized bands requiring multi-mic drum setups or numerous vocal lines.

A dedicated rack-mount kit is also available for this model.

At the top of the range, the Alchemix 1203 Pro offers 12 mono Mic/Line inputs alongside the standard 3 stereo inputs.
This 18-channel configuration is designed for complex fixed installations, multimedia rehearsal rooms, and demanding live productions.

Each mixer is housed in a rugged metal chassis with shock-resistant protective side panels. The main Master and Subgroup outputs are equipped with balanced male XLR connectors to ensure signal integrity over long cable runs while effectively eliminating external electromagnetic interference.
