LEWITT LW6: wireless headphones for professional studio applications

Uncompressed PCM audio, latency below 6 ms and advanced DSP functions: these are the key features of the new LEWITT LW6, designed for mixing, mastering, monitoring and critical listening.

Bringing wireless freedom into professional audio production means, above all, not having to compromise on signal quality while also being free to move around the studio, without necessarily having to remain “glued” to the console.

LEWITT LW6 Wireless Studio Headphones are designed for mixing, mastering, monitoring and critical listening, and feature proprietary RealSound technology, capable of transmitting uncompressed PCM audio with latency below 6 ms.

The system uses an ultra-wideband RealSound transmitter with a range of up to 5 meters, which can be connected to the headphone output or directly to a computer via USB-C. The LW6 also features Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5 mm analog input and USB-C for audio and charging, providing several integration options within the setup.

The headphones feature a closed-back, over-ear design with 40 mm biocellulose drivers, a 32-ohm impedance and a stated frequency response of 20 Hz–20 kHz. LEWITT has worked on the headphone response using a measurement procedure based on microphones positioned inside real ears, with the aim of achieving particularly natural and accurate reproduction while maintaining the acoustic isolation provided by the closed-back design.

A distinctive feature of the LW6 is its integrated DSP system, managed through the LEWITT app and software. Users can create up to three custom EQ profiles using a five-band equalizer and save them directly to the headphones. These are complemented by Virtual Studio Monitors, which simulate listening through studio monitors in an optimized environment, and Loudness Guard, designed to set a protection threshold against level peaks.

The monitoring section also includes K-metering, mono, side-stereo, side-mono and left/right swap modes, together with the ability to define three reference volume levels. These functions make the LW6 a tool designed not only for listening, but also for checking and analyzing audio material throughout the different stages of production.

Ergonomics have also been designed for professional use, with memory foam ear pads, an adjustable headband and a stated battery life of up to 21 hours. Both the cable and ear pads are replaceable. The package includes the RealSound transmitter, USB-C and analog cables in different lengths, adapters, a carrying case and a LEWITT Space Replicator Essential license.
