SoniX 4800F is the new audio processor with 4 inputs and 8 outputs designed for both live applications and fixed installations. The quality of its converters and huge computing power make it an essential reference point for all audio professionals who need reliable, powerful and high-quality tools in line with the HELVIA philosophy.
The front panel is minimal and sleek, and has only the essential controls (Mute buttons, VU meters, USB port, 2” TFT color display, data/entry, and menu button. The rear panel houses all balanced input/output connections, as well as the RJ-45 port for LAN connection.
At the heart of the machine is 32-bit/400MHz 4th generation SHARC processor with 24-bit AD/DA conversion and 192kHz sampling rate. The four inputs can be freely assigned and grouped to the 8 outputs via a classic matrix panel. All editing functions are accessible either from the front panel or from Windows® PC software that can be connected via USB or LAN.
Collapse textThe control software is extremely sophisticated but equally simple and intuitive. Each input and output are represented by an real path that the signal follows within the SoniX 4800F. Pressing each of the buttons takes you to the relevant screen that allows the modification of many parameters.
For the 4 inputs, in addition to the normal level, mute, phase, grouping, assignment and multi-band EQ controls, there are the Auto Feedback Cancellation function with 6 levels of intervention, the 3-band Dynamic Equalizer and the FIR (Finite Inpulse Response) filter with the possibility of saving and importing one's own settings.
For the 8 outputs, in addition to the normal level, mute, phase, grouping, assignment and multi-band EQ controls that we find for the inputs, there are the 15-band PEQ plus HPF and LPF, the IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) and FIR filters, as well as the entire dynamics control section with Compressor and Limiter.
All inputs and outputs have delays of up to 1200ms. Finally, there are 32 freely programmable memories that can be recalled by the user from either the software or the control panel.
